That is the kind of thing i usually face at the Hanoi thread as well. Although these newbies may not mean it but it seems they think the whole world owes them a living. Out of courtesy, i think newbies venturing into a territory and need some seniors help should :
1. Read the forum first
2. identify which senior more specialise in what kind of activities
3. PM the senior to inquire specifically about that kind of fun and invite senior out for a beer.

Anyway we seniors are not out to take cheap thrills on newbies, I can say that for myself and senior in Hanoi as well as HCMC that we usually pay for the beer when we meet newbies for the first time. For myself, if newbies wish to go for any specific activities such as massage or karaoke, we usually go on dutch. So newbies visiting Vietnam should not worry about being taken advantage of. If fact when i visited HCMC, I was scolded by seniors for attempting to pay for dinner when we first met!

For newbies that post "Its my virgin trip to this place so any seniors pls PM me if you free ... " i think they will never get any PM from seniors.

The other kind of funny messages I used to get in my PM is "do you have any interesting place to recommend to me?" And sometimes i spend some time to write a few para about couple of the karaoke places they can try and they respond "aiyah, but I dun like that kind of things.. any other interesting places???"

Again, like we owe them a living or we are making a living out of doing these! Why cannot just say "I am specifically interested in Karaoke/massage/blowjob(*) and my contact number is [12345678]. Hope to meet up with you for a beer for some pointers and if possible we can go for fun together... "

newbies who refuse to heed such tips can continue to do their "PM me if you free..." and good luck to you.

Think about it.

Also, do these guys who bar-fine these girls and take them out for the evening for drinks and dinner etc. not realise these girls are completely taking the piss and laughing at them behind their backs? Do they have no pride? Do they leave this behind when they board the plane? I don’t care if they have money to burn – give it to some charity who will help the really poor people in SE Asia.

Pls think ! Dung bi lua nua, Ban ! :)

Just typical "bad habit" of human nature to take advantage of things that are FREE... and sometimes even take it for granted.

I recalled an incident about a year ago, a samster sms me to ask if he need to pay tips to the PR girl who sat with him in a certain bar...

SMS from Samster : The girls at XYZ bar need to tip or not?
I did not reply...
The next day I bummed into him, unfortunately...
Samster : Oi... last night why never reply my sms ?
Me (act blur) : what sms?
Samster : Neh... this one... The girls at XYZ bar need to tip or not?
Me : Err... when you go to those viet bars in joo chiat or geylang, do u need to tip?
Samster : Of cause must tip lah, Wah lau !
Me: So what makes you think that you'll get it for FREE in Vietnam ?

I think it is the content that is confusing... No head no tail... but I think 1st part is to ask samster not to send money to their bx.
Although "Ah Heng" got his point but if the bx have no money, then they might go out to work, is it more problems?
Ultimately, I feel it is all up to individuals. Even the BXs stay at home, the men can still come to her house. Then, what?? Dont have any BX? If dont have BX then everyday go discos, KTVs, salon? also must spend money leh...

Second part was saying that samster are stupid to date those bar girls, he prefers to pay the bar-fines and bring the lady straight back to Hotel..

Correct me if I am wrong...
