I was in HCM for 4 days but I did not see any police stations nor police patrol cars. All I saw was an occasional traffic police (2 police) at road junctions.

I also noted that there are no pte clinics around, I just wonder if they are sick where do they turn to.

On the whole, I observe that HCM is NOT a sex city, but its a business city.

Take extreme cautious if want to go for those OKT services.
Vietnam crime rate is not very high.
But neither is it safe.
This OKT might be one of the local gangster trying to rob foreign.
If they recommend a girl and hotel.
The girl will do a fast one even though you go for overnight service.
Halfway through the action, the gangster will rush into the room
and demand money because you have F his gf etc.

This incident happen before to my korean client in Cholon.
In the end, he was rob and dont even have money to take taxi.
Fortunately he manage to contact me borrowing a phone.:cool:

Bro, I don't think you have been around much of the city. There are traffic police everywhere and of course, there are police patrol cars once in a while.

As for private clinics, unless you read Viet, you will not really know how their local clinics look like. Look out for signs like BAC SI .. BAC SI means doctor. Vietnamese often just go to pharamcies to buy medication without going to doctors. :D

let me chip in a bit on info on hcmc. i have been in and out of saigon (and also in and out of saigon girls' pussies) for over 4 years now. doesn't make me an expert of this place (like singviet), but long enough to share some observations.

1. Saigon is safe.
There are seldom capital crime. petty crime like house breaking, etc, yes. No one got their head chopped off and body parts cut off that I know of, unlike, say Singapore or KL.

2. Police are everywhere.
They just don't have to wear uniform. This is a communist country. There are Uniformed police, Secret Police, Informants, etc. Don't rely on only what you can see. What you can't see matters more (also applies to girls' boobs - had the misfortune of believing in what i saw, and then be shocked by what i found last night...).
once i saw a fight in a disco, and before those guys can flee, police already waiting for them outside. highly efficient. don't play play.

3. Sex is everywhere, also.
They just don't as much retail, as they did wholesale. and for those sex retailers, they are much more discrete.

4. 6-lanes road...
not sure where to find this. more streets are 2 lanes, duo directions.

5. Medicine
very effective cold medicine. when i was down with a cold, i bought a few packages of their special med - each pack consist of 4 different coloured/size pills. took it and lost consciousness. got well the next day, after 3 doses. who needs doctors?!

I am no expert la. maybe my exposure is very much different from you guys. You guys mix a lot with expatriates in the city while i mix more with the locals. Since the starting of my stay in HCMC, i have been around the city with locals, and understand more of what the locals want and do. Coupled with the fact that my wife is a vietnamese...... So i am no expert, just different exposure :D

Just giving bros who are presently in HCM or are going to HCM for the CNY holidays. Please do be more careful when you bring gals back to your hotel during this period of time, the CONG AN (POLICE) tends to be more active in checking hotels. Its something common during the period leading up to TET holidays :D
