Agreed. I am not a fan of PZL. I'd rather pay someone to do proper massage than having a pretty ML not paying attention watching TV or chit chatting with other gals.

Usually, if you were to arrive very early in the morning like 6am, you can have the whole van to yourself. :) CP used to be my first stop every time I flew into HKIA, it's no longer the case now. I'd rather meet up with my old timer in SZ or ZH and head over to CP if there's any party or meetup with old friends.

Taikor, for sg, paying 900rmb seems like a poor choice for us. A better option will be to fly in to SZ by silkair. 900rmb=180sgd can easily use this to top up the air fare difference.

Also the ride is much short at 1 hr.

and switch to airport bus A21 (HK$33, approx. 75 minutes).

Quite relaxing and you get a city tour of Hong Kong on the way!

Ahhh.. Just what i needed. Thanks.

On a side note, had anyone went sightseeing in HuiZhou before?
Any recommendations for hotel, things to do, food, etc? :D

Just put my friend on the A43 bus at the HKIA - HK$ 30.90 to sheung Shiu where he will get off in approx 50 minutes, get on the MTR east rail line to lowu/luohu in 7 minutes, HK$ 22.40, cross the border and get the CRH train to Chang Ping - RMB 44.50, half an hour.

Another very viable/reliable and quite fast way HKIA and Chang Ping vice versa.

Crossing border luohu can be slow as we dun have access cards like Hk and pearl delta residents can be at 1 Hour at border..

Yes Hong Kong-Prc border crossing can be quite horrendous, especially in the afternoon, starting from when the cross border school kids go home to around 7 when workers go home; other times it's reasonable, taking into account that these borders are some of the busiest in the world.

Luohu is well known to be quite congested, but other border crossings like huanggang and Shenzhen bay are also getting to be just as bad. The sleepiest is the shataujiao one and somehow lokmachau is still also ok.

Have use luohu a few times, seems more smooth now. They have foreign lane and can be quite fast as not mix with PRC.

Also now HK lets those that enter HK more than 3 times per year to apply for finger print access. That can be very fast.

So far the last few times I have been there, the queue is short.

Bro,
FYI - Finger print access is only available at hong kong airport and not at luohu border.

Whilst Singapore passport holders enjoy visa free access to many countries, I still recommend applying for an APEC card.

https://eabtc.ica.gov.sg/eabtc/index.xhtml

Not only does it gives you visa free access to 14 countries, more importantly, this card will allow you access the priority/special immigration lanes which makes crossing borders a breeze.

The PRC, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines etc - where the lines can be so exasperating, but the best is when I go straight to the Aircrew special counter when entering the United States!

Also, I've never encountered any problems ever since I started using this card as the immigration officers knows that APEC card holders are frequent travelers - and thus not easily "shaken down."

Its available at the Louhu exit on the right hand end of the "foreigner channel" after the PRC's on the HK-SZ side. It's marked as "E channel".

From SZ -Hk, its just beside the "foreigner" channel.

Very useful for us......as the foreigner channel are often filled by long Que of folks over 65 yrs.

how about the huanggang crossing at futian shenzhen?
can it be used there?
i always prefer huanggang border crossing
it is the one and only border crossing open 24 hours in china
other border crossings in china (china_mongolia or china-north korea or china_russia or china_vietnam or china_ thailand) are not as good or convenient as huangganng (hk-sz crossing)
one british guy almost got shot by north korean guards near tumen,china-north korea border crossing

There are 21 economies currently participating in the ABTC Scheme: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, PNG, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand and Vietnam. Canada, the Russian Federation and the United States are currently Transitional Members of the scheme, which allow cardholders from all participating economies to use 'fast-track' immigration lanes (currently designated for air-crew) at major international airports.
Note - although the above states Russia is a "transitional Member," I have just received my new APEC card which lists Russia as a country that I get visa free access to.

good for you bro
ordinary spore passport holders will need visa for entry into russia for even 1 day
with this apec card, bro SEAJ can stay long long in heilongjiang and manzhouli
manzhouli is a major china-russia border crossing near heilongjiang province
during winter temperature in manzhouli reaches minus 30 to 40 degree cold
so bro SEAJ you can enjoy in harbin with no worries about visa extension
you can exit china, enter russia, exit russia and enter china

another question for SEAJ
to apply for the apec card does one need to have a registered company
in any of the apec countries?
will documentary proof will required by ICA spore?
does that mean ordinary people such as tourists or students or workers
will not be able to apply for the card as it is meant for biz people?
i realise this apec card will make visa runs faster, easier and saves time and money
it will let ordinary spore and malaysia passport holders gain access to russia
this is important for those who want to stay longer in dongbei(shenyang, changchun, heilongjiang, harbin)
no need to go down to hongkong or even to dangerous north korea
for south korea ,you can only cross by sea or air via dalian
i hope to see more bros go up to harbin or manzhouli
unfortunately the winter is bitterly cold over there
in fact most northern prc girls enjoy sex more during winter

I am afraid APEC biz travel card is only applicable for Business/Trading related, Gov trade relation officers and is not applicable for tourist alike.

"The members of the business community who has activities of trade and investment with the (21) participating countries and must provide a supporting letter from the regulatory agencies."

so I got mine from China Chamber of Commerce (Associated Chinese Chamber Of Commerce & Industry-ACCIM).

Once i got the recommendation everything needs to be approved by Ministry of Home Affairs.

I think its similar procedure in Singapore as well. Hope this helps !
