Hi guys~!

Havent been around lately as I've been busy with CNY and stuff...

Anyway, I'd like to ask for a little advice from you guys.

I'll be travelling to Vn on the 12th of March morning to look for my GF and also to attend my friend's wedding(14th). Going home 15th March afternoon.

Here comes the problem...

1. Wedding is in Kien giang, my GF is in Long Phu, Soc Trang.
from the map, it seems like quite a distance... can anyone confirm?

2. Why don't i bring along my gf?
my friend is still "stealing eat" behind his fiance and 1 of the "eaten" is my GF's friend... so he doesnt want her to come along.

So my options are....
1. Travel to HCM, spend 1 night with GF, travel to Kien Giang by bus (10 hours) and then back to HCM to spend time with GF.
This looks a little inconvenient due to time constraint and I'm scared of rubberband timing via bus. I also have to travel alone and I do not speak Vn so safety may be an issue.

2. I follow the chartered bus to Kien Ggiang and from Kien giang, I make my way to Soc Trang to meet her. (How to go? How long? safe?) Stay with her in Soc Trang and till the 14th and make my way to Kien giang. Finish the Wedding and make my way back to HCM. (myself or with my GF?)

3. I fly from HCM to a domestic airport near them(which airport? have anot?)
then I fly back to HCM after everything is done.

4. Any suggestions???

All means of transport suggested by my friend is via bus.
Are there other means of transport? --> Please dont suggest walking and cycling...:D
Where can I hire a driver and car/ motorbike from? Availability? Cost?

1. Kien Giang province is at the southern-most of Vietnam. Travelling from HCMC to Kien Giang province is about 6 hours, not 10 hours. Soc Trang province is about 4 hours southward from HCMC. From Soc Trang province to Kien Giang province is about 2 hours. All the routes mentioned are by a small van daily.

2. Don't take the chartered bus to Kien Giang province and later go to Soc Trang province because the total of travelling hours is 8. Instead, take the van in HCMC and go to Soc Trang province (4 hours trip) to see your girlfriend first and stay with her. You can tell the van driver this sentence - "Tôi muốn đi huyện Long Phú, tỉnh Sóc Trăng."

3. On 14th March, you can take the van and go to Kien Giang province from Soc Trang province (2 hours trip). Make sure to ask your gf to call the van driver on 13th March and book the seat. The van will pick you up on the way to Kien Giang province.

4. After the wedding is over, you can take the van to go back to Soc Trang province to see your gf again and later go back to HCMC.

On second thought, it is better to tell the van driver to bring you to Soc Trang city. Ask your gf to meet you in town centre and she can bring you to Long Phu district which is countryside area.

You can print the paper with the sentence "Tôi muốn đi Thành phố Sóc Trăng, tỉnh Sóc Trăng." and show it to the van driver.

After your fren's wedding, i guess it shd start at around Noon and end abt 3-4pm, u shd head back to hcmc cos i scared that if there is any delay, u may missed the flight back sgp....

Sorry i come here to disturb disturb a bit. Kien Giang is NOT the southernmost province in VN. It is CA MAU. See below extracted from Wikipedia:

Cà Mau is a province of Vietnam, named after its capital city. It is located in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam, and is the southernmost of Vietnam's 59 provinces. Let me rephrase it for easier understanding, its like going to a restaurant see all the menu no appetite but since already there might as well order a few dishes to try ;)

Anyway you think those 2 gals easy to earn their $20 ah, one kena forced to watch video clips on somebody's HP continuesly and another kena Autoroam until Singtel also make noise :D

Has just discussed with Mikemike. He has volunteered to lead us on Sat. So just wait for his activation.. ;)

As for tonite (if i'm not wrong), our Capt Carrot007 will lead us to launch a full attack on 'sáu, bảy, tám' before he fly off with our COL SS08 & LTC Zaryl for their mission 'PP'. A new target has emerged.. :D
