Change over there in town area is much better, however if you need a bit just for taxi or miscellaneous costs, change a bit at the airport first than change the rest once you are visiting Cho Ben Thanh area since it is a tourist hotspot ;)

FYI if you are not changing huge amounts or not bothered by small percentage differences like 3 - 5%, then all these does not matter anymore regardless of where you change :D

hello! you can use VND for all your transactions there. In fact, I believe is better to use VND as there are normally problems with the change if you use USD. Some may even not give you a change for your USD. they round it up.

I do not believe it is negotiable. If you want, the goldsmiths around Bến Thành Market offers the best rates. change a bit at the airport first for your taxi into town. I've not heard of a robbery near a money changer. But you have to be careful of flashing your cash around the area.

Normally we dun unless we have more than USD10K to change :eek: but you can try lah cos you never try you never know tio bo??? :D

Violent crimes such as robberies are not very common in Wetnam but snatch thefts & pickpockets are ;)

Tourist attractions leh all can use VND even all makan & such, I think the only things that may require USD is when you tapao :D but then you can also always pay them in VND equivalent ;)
