Dear All bros,

Currently facing some difficuties in arranging for a marriage with my vietnamese gf.

She had been refusal of entry in sep 2010 with the reason ( stated in a letter given to her) "ineligible for the issue of visit pass under current immigration policy" , there is no significant remarks on her passport.

However on oct 2010 when she visit sg again ,she was granted entry.

Both of us had been living together for the past 1 year plus , and she had been visiting me abt once very 2 months .As im in a mist of the divorce of my current marriage , thus we cannot get ROM.

Now , my marriage will be dissolve by end of this month and had apply to ICA for her to enter sg for our new marriage (just an assurance in case she got rejected again) but was given a negative reply.I had appeal thru my MP a few times but result are still the same.

Both me and my wife to be had been waiting for my divorce before we can get marry in sg for almost 1year plus, now im abt to be eligible for my new marriage but encounter another problem with ICA .

We are in a state of desperate dilemma , can any kind bros here advice on my case.

i have some friends who marry thai nationals (not working in GL trade) the obervation i make is

-if u earn alot. good. helps much. 4K and above as u guys know we are not welfare state so can't afford feed another mouth if something goes wrong for the couple. if u don't not very big issue

-if she is academic inclined helps even more. have degree masters etc. PR status should not be issue even. u know our state likes this kind of citizens that can contribute. if not this is bigger barrier than above but not impossible.

saw some replies on asking MP to help. usually they will draft something for ica and ultimately it is still their discretion. so i honestly think mp avenue not very helpful

also bros mus do due diligence. your wife has to declare everything on white card. everything. nowadays with technology. fingerprint. passport. can't run away. so onus is on couple to declare what needs to be

truth may be painful but better that than listening to culture club "do u really want to hurt me" when it happens :)

Bro,

The ONLY solution to your so-called problem is " WAIT UNTIL YOUR CURRENT MARRIAGE IS FULLY AND LEGALLY DISSOLVE" !!!! You cannot do anything or yu are in no position to appealed for anything from now till you are Fully and Legally DIVORCED....

... else you are ruining her chances of coming into Singapore if she declared you as her sponsor.

For now, you can appealed until cow comes home, yu also won't get anything out of it ....

Quote you 4 scenerios which I have shared in my posting in 'Understanding Vietanamese Partners'

1. Officer: Why you come to Singapore to look for your 'BF', do you know he is married, you come here to break-up their family? Sorry I have to send you back ....

Conclusion : Banned for 1 year.

2. Girl: My 'BF''s wife ran away and cannot be find and they are in the process of divorcing.
Officer: But they haven't divorce yet, sorry you have to go back ...

Conclusion: Banned for 1 year.

3. Officer: Do you know your 'BF' is married?
Girl: Yes, I know, but he already divorced.
Officer: How Long they divorced?
Girl: 2 years +.
Officer: Lucky you know your 'BF', if not NOW i send you back to Vietnam ...

Conclusion: Successfully entered Singapore a few times and married with boyfriend.

4. Girl Banned for 1 year. BF appealed for 1 year. Allow to enter for marriage and now the girl have a 1 year LTVP

I hope you understand what I am trying to tell you.

Re: Issue with ICA

BROs ....

FYI .... Case 3 which I shared is My own case :

The ICA already knew that I was Divorced becasue it was reflected in the system, BUT, the officer is ' CLEVER & SMART' to dig potential loopholes by asking my Wife "Do you know your BF is [ married ]?

3. Officer: Do you know your 'BF' is married?
Girl: Yes, I know, but he already divorced.
Officer: How Long they divorced?
Girl: 2 years +.
Officer: Lucky you know your 'BF', if not NOW i send you back to Vietnam ...

So end of the story, your gal have to be smart to answer questions ... and in order for her to be smart... you as her bf must prepared her to answer potential qns asked by thh officer ..

See our gahmen or ICA has all the authority to allow any tourist on a tourist visa who had frequently visited to be in or not...aghmen policies that stated if any tourist stay longer than a certain number of days in our country then she can be considered a resident and then the law was flawed...:p
