Hmm...10200/SGD outside Formosa Hotel (last hour),hehehe...after school holiday that is.

Not a truly good thing from another angle of view. Things has become more expensive in Batam. Taxi all refuse to drop their rides to 30k/trip. Now even the 600k booking girls prices has gone up to 700k. 4 person eat wan tan noodle with drinks all in now cost a bit more than 100k....hmm...used to be less than that. So expensive.... :(

Things at tourist places definitely cost higher if the rate continue dropping.. However, i believe for local places that catered to the locals will remain unchanged.. If not how do the local cope with the price increase when their salary remain unchanged?

I feel that it is better if the rate can stay at current point.. Everything in Indonesia will be easily to convert into SGD

Am at BCS area with a fellow samster. Rate at most shops we asked are only $1 : 10,000 RP. That's even worst than those at HabourBay which we can find 10,050. Well, not a big difference though since we are here only for day trip and not changing much.

Finally, managed to try Bai Long mie pangsit. In my opinion, for 19,500 RP, it's very good value and only rank behind Momo at Batam Centre and Meximo Pub mie pangsit coming in third. Must try if you're in the area.

Now, waiting for my cewek at PM69.

Yes, For noodles lovers, it is a must try... Batam have a lot of good food, n must tries places. A lot had been noted here.


Find woman is cheap, hotels cheap n food cheap plus good. No wonder it is a heaven for many from congested n crowded Singapore. A good short get away for many, especially the weekends.

no doubt sing$ is strengthening against rp .inflation is getting steeper and cost of everything is going up; and are totally out of balance with the local's cost of living and monthly income vis a vis sillypore. yes crime rate is going up too.

Thats why i always said is not piece of good news when u get cheap cheap rupiah. Hotel rates, makan stalls, and even cewek joints going to up their prices in tandem. Once they up and when rupiah strong, they are not going to down their prices ya. So we consumers will lose out. Just look at oil prices. Despite cheap cheap now, did the ferry operators lower down their price ticket?:rolleyes:

Thanks for the compliment,I have objectives in every trip,one of the main one is to learn (this is suppose to be a learning trip,remember?). If i portrait myself as a know-it-all,then i would have very little chance to pick up things that i would never get to know,eg. Bandung girl's scandalistic characters,their not very loyal to their boyfriends/husbands nature in general etc etc,hehehe...

Even after 20 trips to Batam,i am still pretty new when it comes to the Indo's behavioural culture etc. I am still afterall a tourist in Batam who knows only a very tiny bit more than some newbies.

Hehehehe...dont give it to me,pass it to Denny at Marine Live for him to feed his "Lobster" pet,hehehe...i would have no use for it...lol. *no offence to anyone,i am just plain joking here*

Can see you are an experience man when it comes to travelling. Its good to have you around and the rest of the other bros,each sharing part of their travelling experience. Everyone shares a little,this "little" becomes more and i am sure everyone gets to learn something out of something somewhere. Everyone has an increase in knowledge so that we have one (or more) less stupid thing to do unknowingly during our travels in future. Thank you for being there.

Next stop after massage, haircut & wash at V Salon, where else. Unfortunately, Ella (Lina actually) is on off today. Haircut plus wash (with shoulder massage) cost only 80,000 RP. As it's a weekday, there are not many customers around.

Writing this post as my buddy is flirting with his stylist. Name and phone number also taken liao... Lol..
