I spent the last 4 Hrs going thru this thread and you bet I am all sexed up for my trip coming up in June... actually, my frustration encountered when cheonging in Vietnam is the language barrier. 7 or 8 out of 10 some dun really speak conversational english. For those who are better, sometimes have to repeat a few times (eitehr i repeat or they repeat when i catch no ball)

Of cos, this is not just Vn problem. Same prob encountered in Thailand too, though its slightly better.

China, Indonesia and Philippines are easier, as can always converse in Mandarin or English in these countries.

But its a quite classy bar with live band.
The gems I was referring to are the gals working there which we have befriended over a period of time (hehehe....change taste already...)

They will ask you to book another room under the gals name.
High-class hotel cannot bring gals in....go for the USD 20-50 ones.....there are many listed in this thread.

Hi guys, very new here... first post but always "window-shopping" here. I am new here and semi-new at Jazzy which with the combination of TigerAirways promo made me book a air-tix to HCMC in July. I have made some research and also ask around abit regarding the trip. Just a few more questions or more like need some helps from fellow Samsters here.

1. Do you think I should go for some preventive jabs?
2. What is the best travel insurance to get?
3. Any other things to look out for?

Also I have made some queries for hotels and apartment. I manage to find a agent and he offered me Saigon Sky Garden and Cityview 3 bedrooms apartment. The price are between USD97-USD160, the cheapest with area 120sqm. I think the price are pretty good for a 3 bedrooms apartment, what do you guys think? I will give a review on the agency service and also the apartment but that will be another 2 months away.

Last but not least, I must thank all of you guys in advance for your help and also in the past when I am always here as an unregistered guest... :D

3 bedrooms apartment???? Are you staying there permanent??? from your post....it seem not....if for holiday then go to District 1 the "backpacker around. much more cheaper...room not bad...you can look at my previous post...and a brother help me post the video clip of the room too

Hey SG75, thanks for the reply. We are going in trio and wanted to have a good place to sleep and also since only 2 nights, no need to go budget. Anyway if we want to book hotel, we are thinking of Bong sen which will cost us more for 3 rooms. So basically in 1 way or another, apartment is a pretty good idea. I would think that when you are going in small group, a apartment is always very nice. :cool:

3 of us are going this next weekend and are booked at the Sedona Suites. Normally the place will be unwelcoming to girls in the night.

We were persuaded that they will make an exception to allow us to bring back girls.

So, will check it out and report after our trip how truly good they are to us with girls visiting our 3-bedroomed apartment during our stay.
