I enjoy the atmosphere, especially since I am on good terms with the manager of the joint I frequent. Unfortunately, I am just a salaried man with a family to feed, unlike those 大老板 who dump RMB like nobody's business. I probably go once or twice a month.

By Puxi, I believe you refer to the city area west of the river (which is what most foreigners think of), rather than all of Shanghai west of the river (which is what locals think of). So, by the expatriate definition, I am not in Puxi, but rather in Minhang.

All the hfj I frequented have been in Puxi (local definition!), away from the city, in the suburban areas.

I am not too sure how far you can go with a hfj, because I am there to enjoy the atmosphere, and having some ladies to chat with - no sex for me. I suppose, for some (one of my friends claim it's not "some" but "many") of these singers, when you become a regular customer, anything is possible, including getting them as mistresses.

One of these days, when you pop by, I can take you to the hfj I frequent, and we can go to a ktv you frequent (as long as the latter is within my budget!).
