Just posting some pictures taken by me when I was in my friends Vietnamese wife's village up in CAM MOUNTAIN in AnGiang, this place near the border between Vietnam and Cambodia.

At her village, we just planted 100 grafted good quality durian trees, in 3 yrs time it will bear fruits. One grafted tree we bought at sg$17.

In these remote places, most of the people are poor but hv land. So one can strike a deal .

Are you sure you visited Cam mountain or Nui Cam and saw rubber plantation...I had been there numerous times and only saw padi fields...guess we are on different coordinates...:)

what deal can strike?...if you say land then can forget it becos foreigners cannot own land in Vietnam...anything that needs local Viets then me too can not keen to deal...:)

Your wife's family have private land there to plant those trees? Or else if just plant outside few months later all may mysteriously disappeared :eek:

Can strike a deal eg.... We pay for grafted durian trees and plant it in their land and then during harvesting, we have profit sharing such as we get 35%, they get 65% etc etc....

There's many poor Vietnamese that have bare land.

Which viet/cam border was this? Not surprising given their porous borders and ill-enforced immigration policies :D

Last time we went in a group with some GFs in-tow and one of them had an expired passport, one fella in a motorbike offered to fetch her over thru an "alternative route" saying that it only takes 10 minutes & even the charbor also agreed saying she have done so many times (but kns means she is also aware about her expired passport but never bothered to renew WTF :rolleyes:) but we rather forfeit the trip instead of potentially getting her and our party into trouble for nothing :cool:

Well I never trusted any Vietnamese to do this type of deal...the lazy sons will just sell your durian trees and you will never get to see any fruits...dun be surprised they will ask you to pay more money for feritisers, etc...:)

They are not poor when own land...just act poor becos too rich will kena rob or neighbours start to borrow...all Viets are practically liars..:)
