Hope some experience brothers here can give me some advice on this,my gal was charged in court for overstaying and not complying to the special pass given, she has already accepted punishment and is back in her country, will she be able to enter singapore again? I asked her about the ban period but she said the officers didn't tell her how long,i have looked through all the documents given to her including her passport but none of it states the banned period, can brothers advise me how can i go about checking the ban period (if any), also,if there are means to appeal, which address can i actually send to? I have look through the ica website and can only find the feedback form, the ica hotline also doesn't seems of much help, can kind brothers here advice on this matter, many thankz

Think the ban is 2 to 3 years.

Re: Issue with ICA

Before she leaves Singapore, you would have affixed her thumbprint on a document known as an Order of Removal, which means that she will literally be removed from Singapore. the typical ban is 1 to 3 years. in some rare cases, the ban can be a lifetime ban. It is unfortunate that she did not comply with the special pass and overstayed, 跳飞机 as it is commonly known. Be that as it may, she can appeal to return to Singapore and since this involved a previous court conviction, use a lawyer to advance the appeal. Her court records would also be relevant.

However, if she comes into Singapore without approval from ICA known as a written consentto come in, the minimum punishment is one year jail. Good luck.

No ICA feedback form can assist you in this type of appeal.

Re: Issue with ICA

In ICA hierarchy, just write to the relevant department, they will reply you and do their own cc internally.

In real life, when you cc someone, the tendency for the cc party to assume that the main recipient will address the email and when the main recipient notices the cc party and assumes that the cc party will address the email, in the end the email may not be responded to quickly or delayed.

Bro shy,

You were the one who first say you saw this email and can show fellow bros here

No one in this thread has come forth to say that they ever saw your format before.

I rest my case on this phantom email. No more reminders from me.

Bro icalaw101,i have seen the form of removal given to her,its a pink form which states that she is deem unlawful in sg and has to be removed, however, there isn"t anything which states the banned period, her friends who are repatriated before was told and given a letter stating their banned period but not her,and as for her overstaying, its somehow being sabo by ica officers, she reported to the ica few hours late and was told to come back the next working day, however. On the next working day which she went back, she was charge for overstaying by the ica officer, she has never intend to overstay in the first place as she has already bought her air tickets which she was suppose to fly back on the same day,i wanted to explain things to them as my gal is not well verse in english, however, they refused to entertain me, they say there was nothing i could do,just have to wait, now i do not know if she could really come over and marry, how much does it cost if i were to get a lawyer? Need some financial planning now

Re: Issue with ICA

Bro Jdaniel,

ICA usually do not state the ban period in official documents. However, occasionally it may be stated only when the officer filled the old template form. I do not known exactly how much the lawyer fee costs. Some bros in e forum say it is a couple of low thousands paid via instalments. In your gf case, it is a minor case of overstaying (due to the short period of overstaying). Do you recall why she was given a special pass earlier? That is to say why was her passport confiscated by either police, mom or av and she was sent to ICA to report?

If engaging a lawyer is the Number 1 agenda for you, pls seek their advice ...

however, to engage a lawyer to represent you to ask for your GF, I doubt it's going to work ,like I say you and her are NOT legally related ... unless you engage the lawyer to represent her, yes, maybe there are chances ...

My advice is to seek other forms of alternatives , find out more before you engage a lawyer , no point wasting the money at the start ... this is not a 1 week, 1 month thingy, it can drage up to 6 mths or even a year before eveything is ok ....

PLEASE BE PATIENT AND PONDERS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO INSTEAD OF RUSHING DECISION ...

you seem to face the denial that your gf was truthful...everything you answer for her...if you continue to be in this manner then you will never accept the truth...you think our ICA was a bunch of useless fools...:p
