Interesting match.

Manchester United should have lost but De Gea was the savior.

Pierre.

Utd didn't play as well as we expected but then a win is a win. What matters most now is the 3 points. Being 3rd in the table at mid season is showing the resilience of Utd and we are challenging the title! :D

I watch the match last night via Ustream...

My very initial thought was Man U most likely won't win.

It appears they are missing a central lynchpin....Villa can just go pass the entire midfield and put the backline under pressure.

Maybe Felliani absence....Fletcher wasnt playing well....most of the match looks lost.

All credit to Villa...Benteke goal was superb....James Wilson nearly did a carbon copy later...but Villa goalie was alert.

A shining light was Falcao scored the equaliser and his first EPL goal.

A strange move by LVG shifting Young to Right wing after taking off Valencia.

What happened to Januzaj?
Whats with the Wilson chap....he wasn't particularly good apart from that later curler....if that had went in...maybe he is the hero.
But watching 2 matches featuring Wilson...he wasn't spectacular.

All in all...1-1 was a fair result. Villa had more penetration...and would nearly win it if not for some bad finishing.

Of course...the red card....bad decision by the ref....Villa might clinch it if not for Agbonlahor's dismissal.

A point which the team certainly did not deserve.

Villa was far more better.

Pierre.

Yes, you're quite rite, bro SL...indeed the Red Devils hv come tis far by fluke & sheer ladyluck...sigh...so it seems they hv come thru' the last 6 matches by the skin of their teeth...:(

but in the EPL..like SAF said...winning & getting tat 3 points is all tat matters regardless of how well you play !...so the last championship he won was by fluke actually, becos they didn't play particularly well against the other teams...

WoW !!..such a honest & frank assessment of the game last nite against Aston Villa by bro lacoruna69 !...looks like games wif Fletcher in it dun usually end well...wif such big gaps in midfield, wonder why LVG just didn't notice it or act to plug it...yes, Villa could hv won the game at the death since they pressed very hard to win at the end !...sigh...dunno wat to say now of tis team wif so many star studded players & a great manager, still having to struggle to win each game..

Congrats ! to the Red Devils ..Was tinking in my mind tat it shd be 3-1...just din hv the time to put it down in writing...sigh...as everyone knows it is easy to score at least ONE goal against Man Utd cos their defence is very weak...but at the other end, upfront they NOW hv a potent strike force led by their captain WR & RVP, JM, ADM, RF etc, etc..:)...tat can score at least 2 goals if not more against opposing teams.. esp if their defence is not tat good as well....

OMG !...It's another draw again 1-1 ! ...sigh :(...though it's not a bad result relative to the results of the teams just above or below them...how can LVG & his team of star-studded players dream of the title when they play like wat they did in tis match !...letting in a goal in the 2nd minute of play !...& playing like a bunch of schoolboys except for the ever improving Falcao (3 goals so far) & one or 2 others !...pple like Jones, Smalling & esp Johnny Evans & Fletcher shd hv been sold long time ago & replaced by better players if they are to hv any hope at all...esp when they play, it's either a loss or a draw ! :(...during the commentary of tis match by espn, din see much of the name of Rooney, Mata or RVP mentioned !..wat hv they been doing on the pitch, one wonders ???

..just dun know wat to say anymore...it would really be a wonder & their luck if they can end up one of the top 4 at the end of the season in May....the way they are playing now, quite difficult !...each of the opposing teams seems to be getting stronger & stronger by the day...like Spurs thrashing the Mighty Chelsea 5-3 ytd, thru' their 'new' wonder boy Harry Kane...mirroring their own loss 5-3 to Leicester city earlier in the season...they hv so far been lucky in the sense tat the current teams just above & below them are oso not doing well like them either drawing or losing to their opposing teams...tat imho is their only hope of surviving in the 3rd position of the league they are occupying now, come end of season in May...if they continue to play like tis w/o the desire & passion to win each & every match hereafter...
