Re: Batam Info Thread

Bros

Hope don't get zapped for asking this question here, but I've read through most of the postings in this thread, but didn't really see what may be directly relevant.

I am going for a 2D1N golf at Palm Springs during one of the WEEKDAYS, and ideally, staying at a hotel near makan places, nightspots, chicken farms/MP/KTV, probably in Nagoya ?? (apologies, as I've never really been to Batam, except for a Kelong trip many years back). The hotels that are applicable are Turi (which I guess is nearest to the golf course but far from Nagoya ??, Novotel and Grand Majesty.

How far is it from Novotel/Grand Majesty to Palm Springs ?

Appreciate some pointers :)

Thanks Pak.

Was reading some more after posting my question, and I guess I should be staying in Nagoya since my evenings will be where I (and kakis) are going to roam around for makan/fun. So if that's the case, is Novotel or Grand Majesty more convenient and comfy ?

I guess the distance to Palm Springs isn't too big an issue, since it's going to be only to/from there once, but it will be good to know how far is it ? 40 minutes ?

Am sure many bros out here have gone there for golf followed by good fun in the evenings :)

Palm Springs.....sounds familar. Should be the one located in between Nagoya and Tiban? If that's the 1, just abt 15-20mins ride from Novotel. Even it is not that one, to make your night activities easier, stay Novotel is ok. U looking for makan at night near novotel have 2 foodcourts, one at Pacific disco and the other just at the ferry terminal. Memories KTV should be the nearest chicken farm, ar boh can try fishing at Pacific disco after 11pm. Weekend....I think by the time U finish ur game, the farms left chicken shit only. But weekend should have alot more FL in the disco. Good luck.

Good morning Bro Heartlander72
Palm Spring Golf Course is approx. 35-40min by car from Nagoya area,ie. Novotel or Majestic. So it depends on what time you tee-off and what time you wish to wake up if staying at this hotel or at nagoya area. The hotel usually can arrange for sending to golf and back.;)

The palm spring you refer to may be the apartment which is near the Gelael at Batam Centre about 15min to nagoya is correct.;)

IT is very far, Novotel and Grand Majesty is very close to each other, in Nagoya town. Palms Springs is about 40 minutes drive away. Nagoya is the town centre for all the happenings, and action. It is advisable to stay in Novotel Hotel if you want business class atmosphere.

If you are into disco, there is Pacific which is infront of Novotel. FL are there too, but no so recommanded if you are a new comer.

If you are into chicken house, try Indah2, Queens, or New berlian, Feimina.

If you are into massage, read my link.

Brothers

thank you so much for the guidance/directions.

Yep, looks like Palm Springs Course is quite far away from Nagoya....I guess I have to make a choice between staying at Novotel/Grand Majesty and having more fun there at night, vis-a-vis having to wake up 40 minutes earlier in the morning to get to the golf course, if I so decide to play a second game at the course the very next morning :)

Difficult to decide between the 18 hole and the 19th :)

Hehe...you will not have energy for 2nd round of 18 holes after the 19th. So it is either 18 x 2 or 18 +19th. But staying AWAY from nagoya in the night, U will be bored so much so I think U also sian 1/2 just waiting for tee off time, even if it is 1st flight. :D
