Do you guys actually help other people out? or do you have to be long serving member to get any help?? I posted a request a while ago asking for recommendations for a 4 or 5* hotel that would have an in-house bar / kareoke. I will be on business in HCMC just 2 day, I dont have the time or the inclination to go to many bars etc, just looking for what can be provided inside a good hotel Like I said before Hanoi Hotel and Fortuna Hotel provied this type of service in Hanoi. Can someone please just give me a few tips on Hotel names, that's all I'm asking. That cant be too hard to help out a newbie in HCMC??????????? Please.

my limited knowledge here...you can try Renaissance Hotel or New World Hotel where their ktv is within short distance...and to bring ktv gal back to your room is a challenge...

No similar service in HCM. You need to get a girl and then bring to some 2 star hotels. I think from the forum you should be able to find the names of some of these hotels. There are couple of Karaoke in HCM namely, Tokyo hotel, Holiday Karaoke (District 8), 700 Tran Hung Dao, An Dong Hotel (Caesar). Unlike other countries, folks in HCM and Hanoi forum tends to be slightly discreet because Vietnam is still a very conservative country. Any mention of names, phone numbers, etc.. will get the establishment into trouble. Next thing you know we have one less place to enjoy.

PM the guys on this forum and they will surely enlightened you more on HCM.

Thank you, Jackbl, I noticed the thread earlier but it will not help as I still do not know how to pronounce the words. I was informed that there are 6 ways to pronounce the words and each carry a different meaning.

Saw one Bartender at Vic last night... Didn't talked to her when I first went there the 1st time but already noticed her..... Hi, no need to learn the pronounciation so fast, start with remember the individual words first. Then slowly learn to join them up to make a sentence. For correct pronounciation, ask those "teachers" to teach u. If u sound incorrect/funny, this give them a good laugh, and this will be the ice-breaker to strike a conversation with them..... :D

Juz came back from Dalat into HCM city yesterday. Seriously got ripped off by the agency Vietnam Travel,Travel to Vietnam,Vietnam Travel Packages,Vietnam Tours,Vietnam Travel Info,Vietnam Hotels,Vietnam Resorts,Vietnam Vacations,Vietnam Vacation ... at 82 Bui Vien St. My BX wanted to go to Dalat bcos it's the "City of Love" or "City of thousand flowers".

Upon arrival at the agency, I was quoted USD 95 per person for a 3day/2night tour of Dalat with 3-star hotel. My baxa wanted to go so much, so I lan-lan paid USD 190 up-front. But when I went to the same agency the next day, the sales-manager explained that the staff made a mistake, and that the tour is only 2day/1night. If for 3day/2night, I have to pay extra. He even snatch the quoted itinerary and receipt from me!!! WTF!!!:mad: As I had already check out from my hotel in HCM city, and standing there with my luggage, and my BX standing beside me without a clue of what's going on, I decided not to make a fuss about it. Besides, the tour guide was standing beside me, and I swallowed my pride and hid my anger and boarded the tour-bus.

After an 8-hour journey from HCM city to Dalat, I found that the Tulip Hotel is actually 2-star and not 3-star. Again I did not scream at the tour guide, who spoken broken English that I could only understand him for about 30%.
And it rained in Dalat in the afternoon, so we couldn't go anywhere!! So me and my BX just cuddle up, and I released the full force of my fury on her. She just screamed "Pain!! Pain!! Darling, cum quickly!!!"

The next day, the trip went without a hitch. We enjoyed the cool climate there and we returned to HCM city yesterday. When i checked the Vietnam Travel,Travel to Vietnam,Vietnam Travel Packages,Vietnam Tours,Vietnam Travel Info,Vietnam Hotels,Vietnam Resorts,Vietnam Vacations,Vietnam Vacation ..., the website quoted only USD 70 per person for 3day/2night tour!!!

So bros out there, please spend some time to surf the website, such as Sinhcafe - Sinhcafe Travel - Sinh Cafe VietNam - VietNam Travel before you embark on any trip. I seriously thought of making a complaint to the authorities about this fantastic-tour agency, but I know it will be useless.:o
