It was just reading up on teams' player availability and guessing based on managers' past history for the EFL. Utd tend to use the EFL Cup to blood youngsters and give reserves game time. Guess it was too soon for Telles, who didn't look 100% fit. Or perhaps just lacked that game sharpness. I didn't expect West Ham to make 10 changes too, though. Guess Moyes was saving his first 11 for the weekend too. |

By the time 2 or 3 seasons cum, not only the deadwood r cleared but he himself will be cleared too...not sure why he is still keeping so many deadwoods for ???...when they can be easily sold n the money used to buy new n better players who can help him to win trophies |

The next match is against a resurgent Aston Villa team that almost went thru the next stage of the Carabao Cup.... Hope they don't implode again in the last minute of play... hate to say this, now all the opposing teams know their weakness n hit them hard during the last few mins of the game when they tire out n loose their concentration to score either their equaliser or their winner or thrash them with as many goals as they can

So buying players is one thing and they need time to train together to play a system. Also some players dun play a certain system well. OGS likes to play 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-5-1 which is sometimes confusing. If you look at those teams that lift silverware to understand that Guardiola, Tuchel and Klopp like to employ one system with correct players. |

yes, understand football is a team game need all depts to help each other out to score goals but there was once i saw a match in which CR7 played in during his 1st spell with Utd abt 12 yrs ago that he won the game for the Red Devils single-handedly when he saw all his other colleagues were sleeping on the pitch, grabbing the ball from midfield n running all the way to the opponent goal mouth n kicked the ball in past the helpless keeper gasping for air....that is how powerful a footballer is he :) |
Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours
We should be going back to the same team that started against West Ham in the league, for Villa's visit:
De Gea Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Maguire, Shaw McTominay, Fred Greenwood, Fernandes, Pogba Ronaldo Hoping to see a 'McBeek' trial instead, though. Villa will likely play Ings + Watkins. Plenty of firepower, should be good for a goal. McGinn and Bailey fighting to be fit, hopefully they are not ready to start... :p We could see old boy Ashley Young start too. Man Utd 3 : 1 Aston Villa |
