but i have to point out fernandes is somewhat buay zai, he tried to be fancy and lost the ball in his own third (pogba-ish) and his fluffed clearance almost resulted in an own goal if not for martinez. i rather DDG be captain instead of him without maguire to slow them down, and CR7 whom the others need to share his pressing workload, this might be ETH preferred first XI against most opponents for this season (4-2-3-1) GK: DDG (capt) - needs to be more vocal/critical of teammates who switch off/lazy (F them upside down) DR: dalot - good overlapping, but need to improve defending overall DC: varane - read the game (rio ferdinand) and no injuries DC: martinez - won't shy away from challenges (but might kena injury), quick to close down shots (vidic) DL: malacia - good overlapping, but need to improve defending overall MC: casemiro/mctom - holding mid, breaks up play MC: eriksen/VDB - retains possession, doesn't complicate things AMR: sancho - work on understanding with dalot down the right AMC: fernandes - don't be fancy in your own third AML: rashford - no injuries and mental coaching for his confidence/form SC: martial - no injuries, improve his work rate and mental coaching for his confidence/form if plan A doesn't work, throw on CR7 and maguire as plan B targetmen :p |

Imo Casemiro is a v. good player, many levels better than this useless bunch of existing players but is not a magic bullet just by himself alone however good he may be...like Ronaldo CR7 who managed to score 24 goals last season n almost singlehandedly carried the team towards the end of last season (with even 2 back-to-back hattricks, remember ??) he will still need the support of his other teammates if they r to win titles n trophies or want to go up to top 4....RM's midfield or even the whole team is stuffed with v. good players thus their ability to win their own domestic league as well as the European Champion's League last season as a team, so he being just 1 of the good players there may mean nothing to us or RM as they hv equally good if not better replacements :)...so do not look down on him so soon bro like we r on this current bunch of inept players...hold yr fire, let's see how he plays 1st b4 we pass further judgment on him |

To be frank, Liverpool have lion share of possession...but seemed to lack that cutting edge. The center pairing of LM n Varane were solid. Lest not forget, there were moments of scare too...that certain Bruno own goal, 2 distinct saves from DDG. The long punt upwards tactic works. Considering midfield lacks an enforcer (yes, this is the word to be use). Will Casemiro fits the bill?? And I agree w Bro ILPH's opinion of DDG being Capt. He had been in the team long enough. Just need to be more vocal and dare to come out when the need arose. |

As pointed out by Bro imom, L Martinez was solid and make several important interceptions. That probably rubs on to Varane and DDG too. Next match against Southampton away on Sat 27 Aug. Will it back to back victories? Early 7.30am kick off. |

Wonder if Utd will wear that stupid 3rd kit where they blend into the field again, given that Saints' home kit have both Utd's home and away kit colours.
Head says they gonna concede, but might as well be optimistic with the heart here. Southampton 0 : 2 Man Utd |

Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours
All the rumblings these few days are saying 80+ million quid for Antony. How on earth is he worth that? His output isn't even as good as Gakpo, the supposed 'alternative'. I guess his preference for the right wing puts him on top of the list, since we have too many left wingers already.
At 80M he better be a 25+ goals plus 10+ assists a season player. |
