Sorry but I beg to differ...

Look at the immense and very painful consequences caused by these ktv bistro owners wilful breaches...one big cruise liner halted; kindergarten closed; food centre closed; all f&b biz being restricted once again after less than a week of reopening at 5pax a table etc...and this is just the current evaluation to date as this ktv cluster continues to grow...

Oh and I don't need to talk to the ktv industry...harsh bitter sad reality is that ALL industries who rely on human traffic have suffered and continue to suffer v badly becuz of Covid...and this is not just a local issue but a global issue with no easy fast solutions...

Also people need to understand that the situation is still very critical and serious...so please cooperate with the Govt instead of making matters worse because of self interest.

PS. I stand corrected but heard from a friend that the Govt was giving out $30k to the nightlife owners to pivot out of this industry...$30k to give up a liquor license...drop in the ocean but better than nothing I guess under the circumstances....this is a very serious and difficult situation that no one has encountered before...so no easy answers...

suddenly all the people who come into this ktv thread, feeling like they never gone to ktv before, never sit with any hostess in ktv before, kept social distancing no matter covid or not and feel holy and mighty to criticise ktv-going people.
The source of the outbreak is not vietbu or ktv. Its delta variant.
Even no ktv outbreak, there will still be what gym outbreak or what etc.
To think that there will be no such outbreak without ktv is just naive. Yes doesnt mean ktv not to blame but, there's no stopping delta if even redhill bukit merah area hawker centres get covid clusters under covid restrictions!
i can tell you that even hawker centres can have clusters if even with mask wearing + limits per table have clusters, there's virtually no way to stop delta already unless every household get sealed in their own homes!

I didnt go ktv since covid started in early 2019 if you asking me. I'm just stating facts.

The exposure is higher when you no mask hug touch kiss from one room to another compared to hawker queue up for food with mask on. Now news show this cluster is the biggest now. Why denial? Patience abit blue ball abit when over more vaccinated then go back play again. Trust me even if now all ktv close down now, when the economy reopen new one will surely appear this trade will never die one. Plus now play also more expensive....lol

the redhill, bukit merah, queenstown clusters. should actuallly combine into 1 mega cluster. cause they went to all these hawker centres / markets.
If such normal places can even become the biggest cluster, really there nothing stopping it.

Never been to a KTV before. Never wanted to go to one. Never ever thought they were a good idea. KTVs were for stupid people with huge egos and wallets with no brains to properly get the most value out of their money, paying double price for fake GFE and overpriced alcohol to show off in front of other equally vain and egoistic men, to fuck around with women with hygiene levels even worse than that of MPs outside or legal Geylang whores.

They deserve all the whacking they're getting. Arguably it's not enough. Fuck the entire lot of lupsup KTVs in Singapore, apart from legit family friendly proper establishments like Teoheng and Maneki Kineko. So much for a country that has a symbolic ban on 100 porn websites, criminalises possession and production of anything that can be seen as "obscene" or "pornographic material" regardless of intent and purpose of such content, and with a society and political establishment that is perfectly fine to shame the typical man on the street for going to a whorehouse in Geylang, but turns a blind eye for decades to illegal brothels fronting as KTV lounges simply because the rich and powerful go to such places for their sexual debaucheries and thrills.

I hope they all fucking die out. In any case, many such places survived on the basis of corporate credit card spending for entertainment purposes, for clients and to grease the closing of business deals. Now with Covid-19, WFH as default, Zoom meetings replacing in person business meetings, it's fucking lights out for such places anyway and their purposes of "networking business" for rich tiko fucks.
