Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)

Thanks for feedback. I try the one at 484 Vinh Vien 3 months ago. I find the soup starchy but taste is bland to me. Maybe I prefer more salty taste like the one at 87 Tran khac chan. Will try the shop at 112 Ngo Quyen P5 Q10 if have chance.

Banh Canh Cua Hoang Lan, 484 Vinh Vien, Q10

If you like saltish then add more fish sauce...the key to eat banh canh cua is to eat starchy soupy taste with lots of chilies..and not watery if you goes later or night...they may have added more water by then...:)

if you want to try eat Banh Canh Cua with greenish color then go Nguyen Thong D3...:)

http://www.foody.vn/ho-chi-minh/banh-canh-cua-ba-dang

many locals warned me to eat early for those who starts morning before they added more water to their soup...especially bun mam and other soupy food...:)

Anyway individual liking and preferences...:)

Sorry I don't wanna get caught up in a public fight again so I'll PM you.

But as usual you are completely wrong about everything. Let's just leave it at that. :D

Yeah, thanks I figured as much, but I'm an obvious foreigner and my tv skills are pretty weak-I know from reading the viet forums I'm paying a little more than they are-but even they are paying up to 400k on NPK. When you say 200k for d7 is that just tip or is it all-in? There's a couple places in d5 that are next up-I don't mind going out to d7 but it's kind of a haul, so I'm hoping to find some keepers closer to home. But that damn babe I saw the other day on Le Van Luong will have me back out there soon enough...

Obama ate bun cha today in Hanoi.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/0...unknown-223467

I read he'll meet some dissidents in Saigon, also appear at a ceremony to open the new Fullbright University out at the High Tech Park in D9. Then a quick stop at a cafe om before flying out Wednesday night.

US President Barack Obama, who is on a three-day visit to Vietnam, will visit Ngoc Hoang (Jade Emperor) Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City Tuesday afternoon to “pay tribute to and admire the cultural traditions of Vietnam,” according to a White House release.

What I heard one of his itinerary is to visit one of the local massage parlour to enjoy the VIP service.

So what food would you recommend to a overseas friend who visit Vietnam?

Food
Bun Rieu Cua Oc

66 Nguyen Thai Binh, Quan 1
Since i like crab noodle so much, my friend suggest I try the other type of Crab paste noodle with tomato. This shop serve the noodle with snail.
I still prefer the taste of Banh Canh Cua.
