However, with regards to your story, my 0.02 cents: The bf bought her a house and paid her monthly expenses for 5 years.

Imagine your boss telling you he'll take care of your mortgage and you can go on a 5-year paid leave. Please. Example: A young newlywed VN couple living in HCMC (dual income, good jobs at established companies, say around 20 million VND/month combined income - this is definitely part of a minority btw) How long do they have to save in order to afford a house in the city? You can buy a modest one for about 1 billion VND. Even assuming the couple can put away 10 million VND/month it will take 8.5 years!!

Therefore I apologize, but the girl in your story doesnt deserve anyone's pity - her loyalty/faithfulness/fidelity for 5 years has been adequately remunerated. Just my humble opinion.

Yes, she has a house fully paid for and worth some money but money isn't everything because this gal had been a good gf and baxa and provided his bf every needs without complain...in the end, she lost 5 years of her life...
