Just to add, if u need a sedan car from Manila, book from Margarita Station. 2600p, very professional service...").......a bit cheaper than car arranged by hotel costing 2,900 peso.........so no need to feel "threaten" by locals & other people hanging around airport waiting area (but most are well wishers or passengers waiting to fly somewhere)....
I planned my trips on Sat or Sun so very much less traffic and car trip takes just over 2.20 hours....and I arrive at hotel around 4.30-5.00pm....after check-in, have shower, dinner, and then hit the pubs.......or as (hopefully) the case with my upcoming trip, my two dates should knock on my door around 6.30-7.00pm
The return trip is a bit of a bummer coz I take the car trip back to Manila at 5.30am to catch the 9.35am flight back to Kota Kinabalu
