Yumiko Cheng breezily steps out of Lincoln’s office and sees Rain.
Li. Approaching. Rain has turned up, as she had hoped. She then promptly steps back inside Lincoln’s office, keen to tell Lincoln the good news.
Yumiko, re-entering the office, declared, “She will be here in just 10 minutes, Lincoln”.

“Okay, we will wait”, Lincoln declared, leaning back in his silver and leather chair, clearly looking forward to seeing Miss Rain.

10 Minutes later Rain Li finally arrived. She knocked apprehensively on the door, each knock following the other, the sound of apprehension somehow filtering through the knocking.

Lincoln smiled, his eyes lighting up and full of eagerness, “Come in, Rain, and do feel welcome. It is a pleasure to see you.”

Rain steps into the room. Yumiko leaves her chair and motions for Rain to sit down. Rain sits down with her knees pressed tightly together. Lincoln smiles to himself. Unlike Yumiko, Rain does not flaunt her assets, being the very model of ladylike behavior.

Rain smiled, “It is very nice.... to meet you.”

Lincoln looked intently at Rain Li, then…”You do not have to be so formal. Lincoln will do. Now, I have heard from Yumiko that you are in need of a not inconsiderable sum of money. $200,000, to be exact.”

Rain nods her head quietly.

“Fine, why do you need so much money?” Lincoln asks, his eyes narrowing as he looks at Rain.

Rain hesitates a little before answering.

Rain slowly lets out the truth of the matter, “My dad owes people money outside.”

Lincoln leans forward, intrigued and keen to learn more, “As in loan sharks, you mean?”

Rain nods her head again. She is reluctant to ask for money, but has little choice, given the circumstances.

Lincoln’s face becomes stern, “Well, I cannot give out my money just like that, I am not a charity, you know. If I handed out money to everyone who needed it, I’d have none left.”

Rain desperately looked for another solution, “I…I can put up my house as mortgage”, she suggested.

Lincoln was not interested, not even remotely so, “I have no need for your house, Rain.”

Rain became increasingly desperate, her mind drawing a blank. “But I do not have anything else which is valuable”, she said.

Lincoln stared intently at Rain, making her uncomfortable “Hmm…I don’t think so.”

“What do you mean?” Rain asked, more than a little puzzled, she had no idea what Lincoln could possibly be thinking.

Lincoln smiled and looked at Rain, his eyes examining her, enjoying her visual splendor. “Well, of course there is something a girl can always do for a guy.”

Rain’s eyes widened as she heard Lincoln speak…”Like what?” Rain enquired nervously, fearing the answer.

Rain was now so afraid of Lincoln’s answer that she was trembling.

Rain whispered softly,“What?”

Lincoln leaned forward, his body somehow taking on a more aggressive shape, as he looked straight into Rain’s eyes. “You know what I want.”

Rain stood up, disgusted at this insult to her integrity, “I do not do this kind of thing!”

Lincoln leaned back and sighed, “Well, I will just have to turn you down then…I hope you find a way to manage without that money, good luck to you, because you will need it, young lady.”

Rain pleaded with Lincoln, her eyes wide and close to tears.

Rain looks on speechlessly as Yumiko leaves the toilet. She is left with her thoughts, pondering what to do.

30 minutes later, the door to Lincoln’s office swings open, the figure of a girl steps in.
It is Rain Li.
