Since you retiree..I can assure you that Pattaya is more laid back..relaxing..easy going..no rushing. You can crank up to high gear anytime..or just relax in idle mode. From Bangkok or airport to Pattaya is a short hop with many transport options. Its a place to chill a few days and do as you please.
