In Sillypore,the Christian i knew would read the bible or some part of the scripture before they go to bed. I wont be surprise that Christian visit Batam as i do read about Christian group doing some charity work there.
Well,then again they probably bring their own bible for my "notes in the bible case". Just guessing here.

Good advice for Batam goer that wish to visit Batam for the 1st time or new. Always walk around and make exchange rate comparison. One will be surprise how much extras he/she can get after comparing a few different shops from different area of batam.
My method is,i will usually go to a particular money changer now where she will give me what i see online at -20 rupiah /SGD or -30rupiah/SGD at worst. Meaning if the exchange rate today at a particular "1st hour" is 9220/SGD from online,i get 9200/SGD from her. I had 1st went to Batam and have taken your advise for price comparison from shop to shop. After a couple of times with a particular money changer,she knew very well i often bring a group to Batam or my friends will bring their group,each man change an average of S$500. 4 to 5 men in one single group will mean S$2000 to S$2500. She wont want to lose that business in a single go which is often a monthly thing from a couple of groups dated today (my group of colleagues,ex. colleagues,work place security guard group,real life friends etc). Warn her before,if i can find any shop/s with better rate than hers,she will lose my faith and thats exactly why i am very confident in the rates i am getting today,hehehe...i have checked,so far only one money changer in Nagoya Hill Mall can match her rate and that is becos she is one of my ex colleague's relative and only after being challenged base on my regular money changer's rate.

Hehehe...I was actually inspired by bro Newyorker here and bro Baby from the Balai thread to update the list and to create a guide for 1st time Batam visitor/s. I tried to list out haunted Hotels but it dont seems practical,but i believe a Batam Food List should be feasible and beneficial to most,hehehe....and again,like i always say,i alone cannot do it,so i have to read back this thread to gather info from previous postings AGAIN.
