Thai also got tones, so hoping I will catch on a bit quicker. Also I hope (but could be so wrong!) that the writing will be easier to learn than Thai and that could help with learning speed. Thing is I only have 2 weeks then will have to practice on my own. I live in Penang so can find Vietnamese speaker in KTV...
