I don't know about Globe .. but I always preferred Smart
Both the operators suck when it comes to internet, as at some places, Globe is good, other places Smart works fine, but not both at the same time, even in Makati City Center area.
And you can get the Smart SIM Card in Singapore, so you can hit the ground running.
Agreed, about the yellow taxi.
