As TS I am always disturbed by the discussions around how we should report bad apples to AV. Where do you draw the line? I just read a recent FR on Many that was not positive, yet I find that Many is one of my better MLs (until she moved away from me haha). If a bro isn't happy with services for whatever reasons, and reports to AV, then even the half decent to decent ones might get banned.
If the bad apples, however defined, are reported or their addresses broadcast, AV will not just act on these bad MLs, but almost certainly interrogate the MLs to get to their bosses - the webmasters. And there's only a handful of these webmasters or OKTs around now. In the long run, it will do more damage to this black market as it drives everything even more underground.
Here's a simple thing to do:
- Start your own thread listing out what you think are the clone IDs. Trust me I have a tough time figuring out which are clones and which aren't myself.
- Folks like Javabeans and me can check that and delete their FRs, or JB can ignore their FRs for inclusion in his listing. In fact I think he already does that to some extent.
- So what if they zap you, how many accounts can they create/buy to zap you? Just go to the many threads and ask to bump up your points
Alternatively, instead of cry here cry there, do what JB does - start your own Blacklist and keep that running. Bros here have brains enough to see the JB list and check that against a Blacklist. This thread is too fast moving to keep anything but surely you guys can compile a list of negative FRs so that it is a one stop source?
There's a reason why SBF is still around and not shut down or included in the 100 banned sites. It's a great source of info for AV, without us reporting anything to them. I for one, fail to see any good that can come out of reporting bad apples to AV except that if we all do that, it'll just destroy the industry and eventually drive the market up (prized underground commodity).
Has this thread stopped being useful, as people seem to suggest? Should I just delete this, since it appears that many are saying that it is now plagued by OKTs and their clones? (Really??)
