Never try the method mention by your friend but in Thailand mostly those amulets fanatics will do a test shooting(firearms) on the amulets itself to prove the "Kong Kar Phan" power...invinciblitiy or so call 刀枪不入 but to me I think that is not a good way of respect to the image embedded on the amulets
But yet there is many many way to test la...If you're a wearer, just wear it with faith and it will protect you...like for me I'm a FL and also collector , I don't wear my collecting items but I just wear a unknown source amulet made of black clay which pass down from my belated father and it had proven to me many many times when danger occurs. As long you feel comfortable that should be the piece....hehe
