Request for payment before service is not a deal-breaker but on the other hand, it can be a mood-killer. But i understand there to be two sides to the story as the girls or rather the okt just want to be on the safe side so as to prevent against mishaps like customers forgotten to bring wallet or worse, those that eat & run! Wish there was a compromise.
