Had a bit of think after watching this week's CL/EL/EC games/highlights, reading the match takes and pundits' analysis...

I've detected a big change in tactics in Europe. It seems the days of out and out brilliance as seen in Barca and the Galacticos of old are no longer.

But while EPL top teams are still attempting the crowd pleasing glamorous attacking game, after watching City v Real, Arsenal etc and us, they are defending like mad and hoping/getting quick breaks while we charge on like headless chickens ...

Atalanta's tedious man marking totally stifled us and Real etc held off attacks by more or less parking the bus once they got pegged back. Arsenal couldn't break through Bayern in the end and so on. Villa - well it was pens.
