Yep, they are good spenders, but some of them lack the ethical respect for the working girls.
For one, I was at Rainbow 5 last year Aug. Saw one ah tiong (His voice was louder than the music!555) throwing a stack of 100 bahts at the girls dancing on the stage. They were scrambling for it and one almost fell off the stage. The Tiong and his friends were like laughing their asses off. Another case I heard from a girl working at a nuru shop. She said one tiong customer laid a row of 10 over pieces of 1000 baht on the floor and told her to crawl like a dog and use her mouth to pick up as many as she can. Those notes that dont drop from her mouth are her tips.
However, i am proud to hear from the working ladies that they view Sg/Malaysian Chinese customers as gentlemen.
I know it sounds CB but I personally dont like to be mistaken for a PRC. Everytime i enter some nuru shop or restaurant in Bangkok and the staff starts saying "Ni Hao!" Or bring the Chinese menu to me, I will just say "English menu please, I am Singaporean, mai chai kun chin"
