Some of you might already know that Ho Chi Minh City got a new Chairman (Mayor) earlier this year. One of the notable policies he introduced was a ban on balloon sales.

Now, I’ve been hearing whispers about another potential crackdown—this time on short-term condo rentals (a few days or less). When I checked Agoda for my upcoming trip in April, I noticed something interesting: previously, places like Royal Saigon and Rivergate had tons of listings, but now? They seem to have vanished.

Adding to the mix, I also heard that condo security guards might be working with the police and could even get rewards for reporting guests who bring Vietnamese girls back to their units.

Anyone out there able to confirm if there’s truth to these rumors? Curious to hear what you all think!
