When I was in ZS & ZH in 2004, the winter is even worse, went down to -1 deg! But at least, the other parts of PRC isn't as bad as this winter! Guangdong province is definitely not ready for such temperatures, as most apartments do not have warm air / heating.
The worst weather in recent weeks where I am is last Friday evening, there is Carnaval celebrations in Brabant region, many people party & drink like no tomorrow everywhere. When it 1st started to rain, the crowd on the streets scattered into surrounding bars & restaurants. Then it rain & snow later! Wind is also rather strong. It doesn't feel good walking in the wind, with rain & snow smacking into yr face! Temp was -2 deg. Looking outside from my window, I see snow being "whipped up" by the wind.
If no wind, 3 deg is actually pretty nice & cooling. Better apply more lip gloss & moisturing cream on your hands n legs, especially your thighs. The humidity is usually very dry in such temperatures, u'll regret when yr skin starts drying & cracking up! Imagine skin on yr thighs drying & cracking up, and then rub with yr pants / jeans when u walk.
U can also buy those 保暖内衣、裤 at the local supermarts / shopping malls. That helps alot, yr skin dont dry-up that much, oso keeps u relatively warmer than w/o them.
