At least in that case, u dont stick out like a sore thumb & attract attention from those thiefs. If u are looking for MMs there, just sit at those bar counters there, relax, have a drink & "look-see" at your pleasure. When u get into some eye-contact with some of them, they may approach u. Or, if u fancy anyone, just go up & approach lor, simple as that.
Any other conversation with the gal depends on how u talk. Whenever my SGP frens asked me for advice when they need to travel to PRC, I always remind them dont tell anyone, especially the MMs, that they're from SGP. That may probably invite some unwanted "surprises" or "events". SGPeans have a rather "high-profile" in Asia, ie, rich (strong currency), yet ignorant (not street-smart), proud & arrogant.
