As we know what exactly to do and never take advantage, if that happened in the place then there is no such things as "close" buddies.
Even a bottle of whisky (max. green label only ...... gold label can consider) is still cheap for a lau chiau for a tour guide!
So coming or not......! Leaving soon loh!

Yes just cheong with a few close buddies and everything should be fine. It all boils down to mutual understanding and consideration.

Haha those 2 points I encountered many times also. My criteria is even lesser than yours. Treat me for kopi by the roadside stall will suffice. This way I pass them whatever info they required. As long as one is sincere in making friends I'm up for it. When I come out to cheong I also want to make some sincere friends. Those with a hi bye friend mentality need not apply.
In the past I usually invite those who contacted me to G-Clubs I've memberships with. Having a few drinks on me won't kill me and besides the ice/mixers are free.
I don't usually become a tour guide unless close buddies or those refered by others are in town. For those who contacted me for cheonging. I usually tell them that I'll be going to certain places and they can join me if they wish to.
