Had the chance this week to visit both places on consecutive nights, and two on one same night now that they are next to each other. The new XZ is quite nice, nicer than HC. The three KTV rooms are not ready yet, but the main hall is all done and done nicely. The large KTV room will have the pool table. Singers tell me that the crowds are more the regulars coming to enjoy the new place, but the boss expects more new customers over time.
Also Xianzi is planning HHs, so will open at six. The singers will rotate in terms of showing up early, current plan is they will just be there for entertaining during HH and will sing only if guests ask, and customers can also sing in the big hall just as in Tanjong Pagar KTVs.
Highly recommended to visit the new xianzi, and if you have more time you can stop by HC too, I'm sure between the two you'll find a few singers worth staring at if not hanging!
