Oh! Are we back to the topic of G-Club girls?
I hope my opinions still mean for something, having been in a serious relationship with an ex G-Club girl for 2 years.
That horrifying story, I guess, is the pick of the crop, but I personally don't subscribe to the notion that it's non-isolated.
In other words, it all depends on the girl you've had the fortune, or misfortune, of meeting. And a little bit of common sense to smell danger when it comes near. There are money-hungry G-Club girls, and then there are normal G-Club girls. More often than not, I would tend to agree with the opinion of that particular G-Club owner whose interview was reproduced in the previous page, and I hope I have hung out enough with my ex-girlfriend's clique of friends, associates and G-Club "colleagues" to know what typically entails.
Most, no, make that all, G-Club girls don't like what they do for a living.
Most G-Club girls are jai dee and not out to "fish a big one". Girls will be girls - they want love and a nice man they can love, take care of them (emotionally and financially) for a lifetime.
Most of them aren't lucky enough to get that. Those that do, more often than not, get "rescued" from the nightclub scene and never look back again, even if something should happen to their relationship. They simply move on, away from the nightclub scene, determined never to go back again. We're not talking about Issan agogo girls here, many of them just jumping from one man to another, and when their financial supply line gets cut simply walks back into the agogo and carries on dancing around naked as if nothing ever happened. We're refering to a specific type of city dweller who got into the business wearily, got "rescued", and seeking any chance to get out. Modern city girls in Bangkok are just like modern city girls in Singapore - they have emotions, they love and get hurt, they long to be spoiled like a princess. Stereotyping all of them as money-laundering robots is a little unfair.
If you're 43, plump, not at all good-looking but with plenty of money to throw around, and a hot, sexy 25 year-old G-Club chick declares that she "loves you", most would have the common sense to snap out of it and realise that there's more to it than just an emotional connection going on. Take a relatively fresh-looking, 29 year-old with a little bit of dough, sweet and caring sensitive little SNAG and pair him up with a G-Club girl new to the scene, and sparks might fly. It's a simple equation of attraction. Most of the time, common sense should get you out of situations you have no business getting into in the first place.
But then again, that's just my opinion..
