there's been much talk about personal safety when travelling in the philippines. personally, i try to blend in as much as i can with the people. i carry no more than a backpack, some common sense and cigarettes to pass around. i travel alone on my first trip to angeles city and manila and never had much trouble. i always try to treat people respectfully regardless whether they are bellboys, waiters or hookers. they usually have a tip or two to share with me about local culture. but then again, i might just be lucky.

Bro its true that to maintain a low profile is important. For me i have been to manila and AC but never encountered any problems before.

As long as treat people nice and be polite to others i think everything should be alright.
