Call girl service busted

In Korea...really not a fun place....but I know it HAS to be...somehow...

From Korean Herald....

A former U.S. soldier was arrested by the police on charges of brokering prostitution online.

The Gangdong Police Station on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old U.S. citizen identified by his initial L and also booked six of the prostitutes.

People who bought sex on the site or exchanged phone calls or emails with him will also face investigation, police officials said.

The man opened a website, claiming to introduce foreign men here to dates or female escorts who were in fact prostitutes. He posted naked photographs of the hired women, with their faces hidden.

Below the pictures were marked the women’s age, available hours and their hourly fee, of which 20-50 percent were handed over to L.

The prostitutes, from countries such as Russia, Vietnam and the Philippines, were mostly hired through online job ads supposedly looking for waitresses.

A total of 200 customers have so far used the website, most of them being U.S. soldiers or native English speakers working here, according to the police.

Under the present law, those caught for brokering prostitution on the Internet are to face a maximum jail term of three years or a maximum fine of 30 million won ($26,834).

A newspaper made a report earlier this month about such websites and the rampant online prostitution practices which go unnoticed on the Internet. The police were largely unaware of the websites, according to the report.

The Gangdong Police Station began the investigation afterward, police said, sending in a female officer undercover to collect evidence.
