I think we need a manager who is strong in man-management. Someone who can tell these millionaire footballers off when their form is patchy. I think Alex Ferguson is so successful because he is very fierce (hair-dryer) if the players underperform. Mourinho is also quite good at this. Players know that if they make their managers crossed, it's bye bye career time. My way or the highway type of manager.
Just think of Evans (Spice Boys Era), Houllier and Rafa (both quite aloof and distant from players) and I think we haven't seen this kind of manager in Liverpool. I think Moyes at Everton can kick butt quite well too. If you underperform in Liverpool now, what will happen to you? Will you get dropped or sold? I don't think so...
