The crime level is at an all time high at the moment. Be very careful and conscious at all times. In and out of room. Use in room safe/ lobby safe/ locks when having girls in your room. Worse is if you do have non bargirls in your room, never be out of sight of your valuables for too long. Leave your pants just outside toilet door and wash/bathe with door opened. Use mirrors to good effect.
We as tourists have very little rights or protection in Philippines. If you get robbed in broad daylight, no one will help you. No one will be your witness. Best is to carry minimal and use the oldest cels.
Major crimes have been committed on us tourists in recent times and hopefully I am not included in that number. The canadian that's killed. he swede that got beaten till near coma. The malaysian that's robbed in broad daylight near Tiger Hotel. Me that's been robbed 5 times in past year in Fields. My latest defense stand> "Bring minimal. Spread out my eggs. Be less trusting."
