Hey bro,
Been to AC many times and here is what I think
1)Do not worry as they do not hate koreans in AC. They sometimes perfer koreans as they are known to be better tippers (but not as much as the Japanese though). If you speak english then you will be fine with little chance of ripoffs. They target Non-english speaking Koreans to ripoff.
2)Not a good idea to carry a gun while in PI unless you live there. I had a friend in PI that owns a machine gun at home but even he said he never carries a gun outside his home. He said when you get jumped (mugged) you will not expect it as they will come at you quickly and with perhaps 2-4 guys and you will not have time to find your gun anyway. Friend said once they find your gun, they will probably use it to shoot you with it- not good all around. staying safe in AC is easy, just don't walk alone on a deserted street at night drunk. If a street looks too deserted and dark or if you are lost (not really possible in AC, unless drunk), then flag down a trike or jeepney.
