well, not to dispute you - but overall, I don't even bother to stare them back, or show that you stand your ground
After all, we are in their territory, and same goes when I visit other countries.
I rather act uninterested and approach the money changer, if many guys crowding around, ask a stupid question like "You change South African Rand ?" and knowing the obvious answer, will loudly tell myself that I am out of money and can't change money, or if I am with an 'escort' say that to my escort - so the stalkers get the message
I believe in never winning a war in foreign turf ..
And for beggers, I dont' even bother to tell them NO, I act like I don't know English .. and if somebody call me like "hey brother" - I turn and stare like a deer caught in headlight and stammer out "little english" and cut the conversation and move out ...
Well, that's me ..
