Went to Intramara/ Saphan Kwai agogo last mth. Only been here few times and last time went there was about 2 years ago.
The system here is funny cos ST is 1500 while LT is 2000b so relatively speaking LT is cheaper. Which probably explains why few gals want to go for LT. Usually they will ask for extra tips if you want to go for LT.
Took a sweet gal for LT. Paid bar 2000 baht (paid to bar of which bar gets 500b and gal gets 1500). Tipped the gal 1000b next morning as her service was good and I was staying in Sukhumvit which was quite distance away from her place
Probably was subconsciously comparing with Nana/ Soi Cowboy which is these days is usually 4000b for LT +600BF+ drinks which easily comes to 5000b. So for Saphan Kwai, damage was only 2000+1000+ 400 (2 big beers+ gals booking time+tips) so only $3400
I am amazed and surprised at how much cheaper these Saphan Kwai bars compared to Nana/ Soi Cowboy. Consider these:
-You do not have to pay for lady drinks. Gals drink whatever you drink. But you do have to pay for gals time when they sit with you. Hourly rate is about 200 to 300 baht, I think.
-Gals are not pushy and do not come to disturb you. Staff are not pushy also. You see and choose the gals you want. If you want parade of gals, you can ask mamasan for a parade.
-ST 1500b (go to ST hotel nearby like Suparb or Washington) LT 2000b. Most of gals don't want to go For LT. They will usually ask where you stay for LT and if it is far unfamiliar place, may have to give them some extra tips.
-Gals are slimmer and fairer and more suited for Thai/ Asian tastes. There are some sweet ones but of cos there are fewer gals in total here compared to Nana/Soi Cowboy.
Here there are about 8 to 9 bars. A few of them like Rainbow have big stage and bigger than any of the bars in Nana/ Soi Cowboy. But there are much fewer gals here so less to choose from. Most bars also seldom full and packed but then probably cos they are bigger bar compared to Nana/SC which are smaller bar and easily packed.
Also need to speak Thai cos majority of staff/ mamasan do not speak much English.
I was also surprised when I talked with my gal and gathered that she worked in Soprano (Sukhumvit soi 26) before. That surprised me cos Soprano was much higher end compared to Saphan Kwai
She says at Soprano there were many rules, restrictions and pressure to dress well and expensively whereas at Saphan Kwai it was easygoing and she has more freedom. She says she can earn 30 to 40K per mth in Saphan Kwai. At Soprano, she says LT is about 5000b of which she gets only abt 2000b+ and she earns slightly more per mth at Soprano but have to always keep up appearances.
Nana / SC is probably more fun/vibrant cos they are in more central area, have more bars. more girls to choose from, more customers and therefore more to look see talk about. You can hang out at Nana/SC whereas you cannot really hang out at Saphan Kwai. Saphan Kwai is good to pick up gal and then go elsewhere to hang out.
My question is - Why aren't these gals (some of whom are more attractive than those in Nana/Soi Cowboy) working in Nana/ Soi Cowboy where they are obviously earn much more? What is the deal?
