I dun think i plan to share any peso/$ with them.
Be firm stand your ground with a smile.
Once immigration/customs clear you there is very little these guys can do to you.
So far i never encounter it.

a few other incident about immgration officer with my post sometime ago back my buddy kanna also.
I mean all this ppl is consider security personal at airport which is suppose to let us few safe but end up the are the one ripping off apart?
I think bros should stand firm when facing them.but with a smile of course.Any sign of weakness they will attack your pocket & some of your stuff automatic become thier souvinir.
