Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Another killer cop news...... this incident happened on 6th June 2011 in Perimeter opposite the Hotel California....... the victim is a Korean American
ANGELES City -- Witnesses identified a policeman as the one who shot dead a 34-year-old Amerasian in Bgy. Malabanias here Monday night.
Chief Insp. Luisito Tan, Police Station 4 commander, identified the victim as John George Fernandez and the suspect as SPO4 Danilo Soriano. Both are residents of Plaridel 1 Subd., Bgy. Malabanias.
Investigation conducted by Insp. Dickson Tolentino showed that Fernandez and his live-in partner Marilou Silva were walking along Del Pilar St. in the village at 7:10 p.m. when Soriano approached them and talked to Fernandez. Silva left and entered her house.
After a few minutes, Silva heard a gunshot. When she checked, she saw Fernandez lying on the ground, blood oozing from his head.
A witness told police investigators that she saw the suspect chase and shot the victim once in the head.
Investigators found a slug for caliber .45 at the crime scene.
At around 9:05 p.m., the police learned from officials of Bgy. Claro M. Recto that Soriano had surrendered to the tanod brigade of the village.
The retired policeman even executed a handwritten statement, which was countersigned by one Peter John Meneses, tanod executive officer of Bgy. Claro M. Recto, denying his involvement in the killing of the Amerasian.
Soriano said he and Fernandez had a heated argument. “Bumunot po siya ng balisong at inundayan ako ng saksak sa kaliwang bahagi ng aking katawan at kamay. Hindi ko na po alam ang sumunod na pangyayari,” he said.
“Kusa po akong dumulog sa Bgy. C.M. Recto at hindi sa Bgy. Malabanias para sa safety at security ko dahil wala po akong kinalaman sa pagpatay (kay Fernandez),” he added.
The suspect was brought and detained at the Police Station 4. He is facing charges of homicide.
