IMHO, the root of the matter is with us.
As in all businesses, HFJ have a right to operate legally and the singer has a right to perform here too. It s easy to turn the anger at the establishment or it's "performing artists"

but it s not their fault entirely that customers can't handle it. There are plenty of customers who can play, win or lose and able to walk away. Some people though, can’t walk away. That's their problem, nobody else. They need to fix themselves. It s an internal problem not external. No one forced them to hang even when they realized it was financially killing them. The blame is squarely on their shoulders, not the Joint or Singer. Misdirected anger will not help anyone but only give them excuses to stay broken. If they fix themselves, these performing "magic shows" platforms and artists will not matter to them one bit.
HFJ is lesser evil than gambling addiction which is more harmful with greater negative consequences. Gambling is often associated with increased suicidal ideation and attempts as compared to the general flowering hanging populaiton
