Guys, check out this link. A guy in AC walking at night was killed probably for his wallet and cellphone.

Please avoid walking alone (especially along Perimeter) at night. Fields has not reported killings for a while now. Robberies/pick pockets a lot though.

Cheers
Actually killings is very common in AC, just that the deaths of the locals do not make it to the news whereas the death of a foreigner is always posted on the expats bulletin where it is picked up and reported to the media.

This case was most probably a hit job rather than a robbery. The initial official line maintained by the PNP was a robbery and closed the case but facts have surfaced that suggests otherwise. People who witnessed the incident have oso come forward. The family of the deceased have sought assistance from their embassy to look into the death. Under these circumstances, the PNP reopened the case.

The deceased was Paul Atkins. His daughter Raine confirmed identification after viewing photos taken of the deceased at the mortuary. The deceased was shot @ 1.30am outside the Garfields bar. Why was he there when the bars around the vicinity had oredi been closed by 11pm? Eyewitness account stated 2 men grabbed him and 1 of them put a gun to his head and shot him pointblank while the other shot him from the side. The actions of the men and viciousness of the attack indicated they were out to kill him rather than a robbery.

Anyone with information can forward them to Major Lusito Tan of Station 4.
