The counterfeits so far has been confined to the 500p note and the fake is such good quality that it is hard to detect by the naked eye, but can be detected by uv light reader.

Sometimes its advisable to have correct change or make 1000p note payment earlier so they can run around looking for some other shop who can change for them.
I usually see cashiers using a pencil to mark on notes to check authenticity. Do that in Singapore and we be arrested.

Very sooon very notes will have counterfeit. And again we are the losing ends as they will give the trade to the customer who are foreigners which they assume are rich guys.

Not sure but I guess if its a fake, that particular pencil would not shade well or the ink could be erased. Maybe someone else can throw a better smoke then me. LOL.
