Agree again, texting n callin or use yahoo messenger to maintain contact. If they iniate to contact u once a while eg. to wish u during festive seasons, think it's a good sign. Willingness to pay for their own text/ calls to u is also a good indication.
Wallets can be used but usually as a last resort to help not as the first step out.

Last trip I give the excuse I playin pool wholenite w my friend n she accepts that. Luckily that nite she saw me alone going into a bar w pool on fields coincidently.
Pro is they accept excuses easily, Con is Fields n Perimeter is such a small area that u may ran into her. But again u can give excuse e.g that the girl u hugging is ur godsister
