If in Manila, and AC, unless you are in 'high end' hotel, hotels don't ask for extra .. as I said, even when I 4 girls in my room in Rivera, they didn't ask me anything .. or even when atleast 2 girls stayed over ..
Of course, if you stay in Shang, or Makati Suites, or Peninsular or such top places, they do ask you to register !!

Take P Burgos .. venture away like 10 minutes, the place is a mirror image of Malate / Pasay or everywhere .. the only exception is Tondo which is real cowboy town .. and talking of Makati, actually, the area surrounding GB and such is the carbon copy of Singapore .. ten minutes away, you are in a jungle ..
And for P Burgos, while I shun the place, it is good for those who are used to spending money in TP/PM and such places .. and
they dont' feel the pinch ..
Of course, for me .. spending 8,000 peso on an evening ? I Can stay in a good hotel in AC, get a great barfine and still have money left for another barfine ..

As of MBC, I have some friends who hang around there, and help me to 'scout' and cut the crap (no, they are not mummies .. ) so it is still a good place.
Again, MBC is a different place on day time vs evening time ..
Stick to 1,500 to 2,000 LT .. and insist no more .. of course, when you have left, then you can always give her tips ..
For the kids, well, dunno how you got harassed .. I always take taxi to get drop off at LA/MBC, and insist the driver don't drop me like three blocks away or so .. and when leaving, same: grab a passing taxi.
The only times I walk to MBC is if I am parked in Malate hotel and have a 'escort' to company me .. so the kids can be kept away .. well, once a teenage kid tried to block me and suddenly I had alarm bells that a few trying to surround me ..
Not that it matter because my wallet has "NOTHING" and my pockets all are virtually empty, and also my phone i use in Manila is the cheapest .. (oh that goes for survival technique anywhere in Phil .. don't flash expensive phones .. ) .. and my 'escort' grabbed one of the guy's shirt and told him to piss off .. and being Philippines, the kid was staring at me .. totally acting like the filipina friend of mine was non-existant .. it was funny anyway
Oh, another thing I keep reminding .. DON'T, FOR FUCKS SAKE, MAKE FRIEND WITH NATIVES IN MANILA, as most of them are scammers .. the non-scammers are not keen to chat up a foreigner .. and the warning includes guys who meet in you a mall and remind you that he is the hotel security, or the bell boy .. etc. etc and after a while you will be buying stuff for the fellow or be threatened .. all that never never happen to me, but know enough guys, including one fellow who was forced to buy a big birthday cake and also ang-pao of 2,000 peso for a 'hotel security' guy he bumped into at Harrisons ..
And talking of Harrisons, there too are 'mummies' who are scammers.. will chat you up and when you reject they will start drama .... again saw an ang moh being harassed .. well, I walk away if they try to be friends .. and Harrisons - well, there is Banana Leaf there .. so after all, Malate does have it's nice stuff too
